- Dear Mr. Lukaszonas,
I wanted to personally thank you for the assistance which you provided to AirSep Corporation over the past several months. As the Operations Manager of AirSep's Commercial Products Division, I have been able to see firsthand the results of our combined efforts and I can say that they have exceeded my expectations.

As you are well aware, we had decided to focus on two distinct production lines for the first two Kaizen events: the Centrox production line and our Custom Systems (High Bay) production area. Prior to your initial visit, both of these lines were seeing a huge increase in sales, but as a result of space, personnel, and material limitations, we were finding it impossible for manufacturing to keep up.

After a couple of months of training our personnel on 5S/Lean and implementing some basic Lean principles, our Centrox production capacity doubled with no increase in personnel. In fact, we actually were able to decrease the footprint of the production line in the process!

Under your guidance, we took a different approach with our Custom Systems area. We mapped out the Value Stream for this area and found a few key bottlenecks. At the same time, we implemented some basic 5S techniques and some simple layout changes to initiate the change process. After a couple of months, we are seeing throughput increases of 300-400%! And we haven't even implemented all of the changes you've recommended yet! I could not be happier with the investment which we made. You were knowledgeable and you spoke to my staff in simple terms that they could easily grasp and make their own. By keeping things simple, we were able to get everyone on-board and pushing in the same direction. The excitement that was generated has carried on into other smaller Kaizens that we have begun to run and I can see a lot of opportunities for AirSep moving forward.

Thanks for all of your hard work. I will recommend your services to all of my vendors in the hopes that I can smooth out my entire supply chain. These principles can help any company in any industry see significant improvements in their operations.

Although we have trained most of our staff a couple of years back in Lean Manufacturing Techniques (LMT) we felt that a refresher course was necessary. The original consultants had a good deal of class room time. Bob was able to trail on the production floor while the crews where running. This allowed for less down time and practical "hands on" use of LMT. The crews liked Bob's approach and top management was provided with excellent feedback on the progress being made.
